This enrolment form (herein “the form”) is a contract between the person identified in the form under Section A. Student Personal Details (herein “the student”) and the subsidiary company of CTU Training Solutions Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
If the choice of campus is left blank for the student to later specify his choice of campus, this shall not invalidate the contract, but it shall be deemed that the student is contracted with the campus that has receipted his/her registration fee; or alternatively, if a different campus - the campus at which he commences his tuition; alternatively, if the student has not paid the registration fee, nor reported at any campus of CTU to commence his tuition, he shall be deemed to have been contracted with the CTU campus closest to his place of residence.
In the event that the student is a minor, this enrolment form shall be co-signed by the student’s legal guardians, whose personal details are recorded under Section B (Parent or Guardian), who will jointly and severally with the student be liable for the payment of the students fees.
In the event that a third party (other than the Student’s legal guardian if he/she is a minor) assumes the liability for the students fee, the Sponsor, whose personal details appear in the enrolment form under Section C “Sponsor Details” shall be a third party to this agreement in his own name, with the obligation to pay the fees jointly and severally with the Student.
Upon completion and submission of this enrolment form, a non-refundable registration fee of R6,000.00 will become payable.
CTU will offer the student tutor-facilitated or virtual instructor-led tuition in the year for the programme or course for which the student has enrolled as specified in Section D (Programme or Course Selection), as more fully described in the student prospectus of 2017.
The student (and if applicable, the sponsor) may not cede and delegate his rights and obligations in terms hereof.
Subject to CTU’s rights to cancel any programme in terms set out herein under, this enrolment constitutes an irrevocable agreement on the side of the student to receive the tuition and participate in the programme of courses enrolled for and to pay the programme fees or course fees in full, as and when it becomes payable. Online/Lync/virtual instructor-led training might apply if there are less than 10 students enrolled.
CTU shall be entitled to – but not obligated to – cancel or reschedule any programme if there are ten or less students in total that have enrolled for the same programme at the same campus or provide the option of online/Lync training or transfer to an alternative campus.
CTU shall be entitled to – but not obligated to – consolidate a tuition programme with that offered at another CTU campus if there are ten or less students in total that have enrolled for the same programme at the same campus, but together the consolidated programme will have ten or more students; or provide the option to train via Lync/online/e-learning.
The student (and if applicable, the guardian or sponsor) shall not be entitled to reduction in programme fees in the event that the student should fail to attend classes, or to complete a course or a programme - fees shall remain fully payable, irrespective.
As information technology is an evolving field of study, programme and course content is continually being revised and may need to be changed on short notice to reflect changes in the field of study. The right to change any of the CTU programmes and course content is expressly reserved to CTU.
The parties acknowledge that CTU is not a credit provider, that this contract does not constitute a credit agreement and that the programme and/or course fees are payable before the commencement date of the programme or course.
In the eventuality that the student elects to enrol for individual courses only, or to supplement a prior qualification by enrolling for individual course/s, or to complete a programme on a different time schedule than the annual programme cycle offered by CTU by entering for individual courses, the following shall apply:
a) The fees due for each course is payable per course in full prior to the commencement of each course.
b) The student shall attend the first course offered on or after the commencement date specified in the form.
c) If a student has made a part payment to a course fee, but has not settled the total at the time the course commences, CTU may, but is not obliged to, allow the student to attend classes and to treat the outstanding balances as arrears.
d) While a student is in arrears any payment received will be allocated to the arrears first in the order of legal costs due, then interest before capital.
e) The student must complete all the courses and specified international exams relevant to the specific programme within the year of enrolment as specified herein on the form.
Should the student have enrolled for more than one course, failure to pay the full course fee prior to the commencement of a course shall automatically convert the course fees for the rest of the courses enrolled for to debt immediately payable.
Late payments shall accrue interest compounded monthly at a rate equal to Nedbank’s prime interest rate plus four per cent, but in any event limited to the maximum allowed in terms of the Usury Act.
Provisional timetables for the year shall be made available to students at the time of the commencement of their programmes. CTU has the right at any time to alter the timetables. No part time/job/transport commitments should be made prior to receiving the schedule.
The parties understand that CTU provides facilitator-led tuition and therefore:
a) In the event of resignation or sickness or other temporary indisposition of a facilitator, classes may become disrupted and be rescheduled.
b) In the event of a permanent indisposition of the facilitator, CTU shall with all due haste, once the permanent indisposition has been confirmed, engage the services of another facilitator.
c) CTU shall under no circumstances be liable for any disruption or rescheduling of classes due to a facilitator’s personal indisposition.
The student understands that this agreement does not entitle him to the qualification of which he has enrolled for by virtue of this agreement or his attendance of classes only. To qualify for any internationally recognised qualification the student shall at the completion of programme or modules of programme, be required to write an internationally recognised examination set by an independent examination organisation that will also be responsible for the issuing of such internationally recognised certifications upon a successful completion of such examinations. CTU will not be held liable to the student should a student fail to pass any examination.
The cost of international examinations, as set out in the student prospectus of 2016_2017, is included in the programme fee payable to CTU. If a student elects to study at his own schedule on an enrolment per course basis, all monies paid to CTU will firstly be allocated towards his liability for the course fees and lastly to his international examination. If any balance is still due by the time that the international examination organisation that will also be responsible for the issuing of such internationally recognised certifications upon a successful completion of such examination. CTU will not be held liable to the student should a student fail to pass any examination.
Before attempting the international exams, students shall sit for a CTU examination in preparation for sitting for their international examination, and an 80% pass rate is required before they are allowed to write their international examination. All international examinations, which is included in the programme fee or course fee, must be completed before 1 December of the year in which the course was offered. Examination written after this date will be on the students own account.
CTU shall be entitled to deny a student access to classes, withhold examination results, withhold certificates, deny access to its facilities and premises, as well as to deny the student participation in student activities, without such act constituting a breach of this agreement for as long as a student’s programme fees or any course fee payment is wholly or partly unpaid or in arrears.
The student, his guardian and the sponsor hereby jointly and severally cannot hold CTU responsible for any injury, harm, theft or damage that the student may suffer whilst on the premises of CTU, or while otherwise participating in the activities of CTU or activities associated with CTU.
No cancellation will be accepted unless signed by both parties, is in writing and is submitted at least by 30 November 2016. Enrolments after 30 November 2016 have a 5 work day cancellation period starting on the day of the enrolment. No cancellations will be accepted for late registrations from the period 25 January 2017 onwards as the academic year commence the 1st week in February 2017.
In the case of cancellation in due course, the registration fee will be forfeited.
The student, his/her guardian and the sponsor herewith confirm that they understand that a programme or course is only offered when sufficient students have enrolled to make it financially viable to run the programme. For this reason, should a student unilaterally cancel or repudiate this agreement other than in the time periods set out above, he/she, the guardian and the sponsor shall remain liable to pay the full programme fee to CTU, the full balance of which shall become immediately payable without any discount or adjustment.
Appendix A ENROLMENT PROCEDURE: THIS SERVES AS AN ANNEXURE TO THE CTU ENROLMENT FORM FOR 2017
CTU’s academic programme will commence February 2017. More information with regards to campus induction and events will be provided in your CTU registration letter. We would like to bring the following under your attention: Ensure that you understand the CAREER programme enrolled for by referring to the latest version of our 2016_2017 prospectus and that you understand your financial obligation. 1. Please ensure that you understand the agreement signed/or will sign with CTU - this is a binding contract.
CTU is a CASH-FREE environment.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Your R6000 registration fee is not refundable.
R6000 registration fee is required (non-refundable). R2000 is payable with registration (non-refundable reservation fee), R4000 on/or before 30 November 2016 to finalise registration - non-refundable.
Late registrations after 30 November 2016 would need to pay R6000 immediately in order to secure space for 2017.
Cash fee only applicable to cash upfront clients (account paid in full on/or before 31 January 2017).
Fees include national qualifications. Selected programmes include international certifications as specified in the 2016_2017 prospectus.
National qualification (diploma) obtainable after programme completion after 2/3 years as specified in the 2016_2017 prospectus.
Fees for diplomas are quoted per year.
Your enrolment form is a legal/binding contract and commitment towards your studies for 2017; although we do not want to lose you to our career campus we understand that there are situations beyond your control that might force you to cancel your registration. Please take note that we would need your cancellation and motivation in writing to reach us not later than 30 November 2016. Enrolments after this period will have to pay R6000 registration and the cancellation period is two weeks from contract and payment. Any cancellation outside the cancellation cool-off period will be liable for the following:
10.1. November 2016 to January 2017: R6000 + 10% of the programme fee;
10.2. February 2017+: R6000 + 20% of the programme fee;
10.3. March 2017: No cancellation will be accepted and you will be responsible for the full programme fee.
According to the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008: “Suppliers or service providers that directly market any goods or services to consumers must inform them of their right to cancel the agreements within the cooling-off period of five (5) business days” Therefore CTU Training Solutions will allow for late registrations in December 2016 to January 2017 with a 2 week cool-off period. Fees are not refundable during this period as costs are calculated against facilitators and the pre-ordering of manuals, study material and space limitations per programme.
No career consultant, facilitator, or campus manager can confirm or commit to a morning or afternoon class (please refer to clause 17 of your enrolment contract) and programme cancellation will not be considered due to class preference. Please note that the class schedule is finalised in January of each year and therefore no commitment should be made by students/or parents regarding travel arrangements or part time jobs prior to receiving the schedule/roster.
Software is not included but our vendors allow programme software distribution should these be available. Creative Cloud packages for design students are available to purchase at an estimated price of R2500.
CTU Career Campus requires all students to own a device (laptop/tablet) with 3G internet access as outlined in our 2016_2017 prospectus to access digital books. Digital books are available for a period of one year. Please request a list from your career consultant.
Content of our programmes is subject to change without notification due to market trends in the industry or as required by regulatory bodies, QCTO, various SETAs, Department of Education and any other vendor related programmes.
The re-write of any international module is not included in our programme fee. International exams can only be taken once a student meets the academic requirements. Please ensure that all international exams are booked prior to the expiry date. Students will not have the option to book/write international exams after 10 December 2017.
We encourage our students to submit their CVs to CTU Recruits who will assist with job placement. Parents should encourage students/graduates to secure their own employment and register with job sites/recruitment agencies. Although we do our very best to introduce each graduate to the industry we can never guarantee employment.
Please note that we will require a credit check for monthly payment options.
SAID registration and stationary is not included in the Computer Aided Drawing/Draughting Programme.
ICB annual student registration, textbooks, assessments per subject are for the students’ own account.
Minimum student (capacity) group sizes will fall into the Virtual Instructor-Led programme commencing in the month of February each year. These courses are delivered online in real-time, enabling you to interact with a facilitator regardless of your campus location.
CTU will not provide your personal details to any third party.
