You’ll learn how to test air, water and soil quality, assess environmental risks, monitor human impact and support environmental compliance. You’ll also explore pollution control, waste management, conservation and GIS.
It’s a practical career where your work can help protect the environment and support a more sustainable future. You can work across government, laboratories, environmental consultancies and sustainability-focused industries.
The programme takes three years. You can study full time during the day or part time through evening and selected Saturday classes, using a blend of virtual learning and practical sessions.
Career options include Environmental Science Technician, Air Quality Technician, Laboratory Analyst, Water or Wastewater Technician, Environmental Compliance Technician and Sustainability Technician.
Once you’ve completed all programme requirements and passed the external assessment, you’ll receive a QCTO Occupational Certificate: Environmental Science Technician at NQF Level 6.
