Prerequisites

  • Microsoft® Windows® 10 Professional or Enterprise
  • Microsoft® Office 365™ license (which provides the Microsoft Office apps) Note: The Office 365 plan you use depends on the licensing available in your environment. If you wish to use a trial version, Office 365 Business Premium is acceptable. This course was not tested with Office 365 Home or Office 365 Personal; some features might not be available in these editions.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Windows and basic Office apps (e.g., saving files, switching programs). Prior Excel experience is helpful.

  • Working with an Access Database – launch Access, navigate tables, queries, forms & reports
  • Creating Tables – plan a database, build tables, define relationships
  • Creating Queries – join, sort, filter data; calculated columns
  • Creating Forms – design user-friendly data-entry forms
  • Creating Reports – build & format professional reports

Hardware Requirements

For this course, you will need one computer for each student and one for the instructor. Each computer will need the following minimum hardware configurations:

  • 6 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) multi-core processor
  • 4 gigabyte (GB) RAM (64-bit) or 2 GB RAM (32-bit)
  • 20 GB available hard disk space (64-bit) or 16 GB (32-bit)
  • Keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device)
  • 1280 × 1024 or higher resolution monitor recommended
  • Network cards and cabling for local network access
  • Internet access (contact your local network administrator)
  • Printer (optional) or an installed printer driver
  • Projection system to display the instructor’s computer screen
