I am currently working at Arc duPlé Architects in Potchefstroom as a Draughtsman. I started my workplace experience there in 2018 while I was busy completing my qualification. The work I do in the office is the things we learned in class. 3D Modelling, drawing all the working drawings (elevations, sections, floor plans etc).

Knowing all the architectural terminology we learned in class is very helpful. Knowing that is a good way to communicate with people doing the same or similar job. Being a draughtsman also requires to work alongside the architect to understand what he wants and to give your own opinion on the drawing. Another thing is a lot of on-site work has to be done to know what changes were made to the design and to work
alongside the project manager to make sure everything runs smoothly.
