Visual communication (also referred to as graphic design) implies the development of design solutions to persuade, entertain, inform, and educate an observing audience regarding products, services and ideas. The field of visual communication encompasses the development of corporate identity, packaging design, editorial design, promotional campaigns, interactive media and web design.
The purpose of this qualification is to equip students to:
  • Develop innovative and appropriate design solutions
  • Effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Advance students’ technical skill in the execution of design solutions.
  • Provide students with a theoretical knowledge that underpins practical execution.
A device and a minimum of 5GB data are required to access training material.
This programme will only be presented at the Pretoria campus in 2017/2018.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent, with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by Umalusi, coupled with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.
